Replacing the Infiniti M in 2014, the Q70 was part of the automaker’s change to Q and QX naming conventions. The M37 became the Q70 3.7, and the M56 was renamed Q70 5.6, each including rear or all-wheel drive. A Q70 Hybrid also arrived. In 2015, the Infiniti Q70 lineup gained a long-wheelbase variant called the Q70L, adding 5.6 inches of rear-seat room but without a hybrid version. For 2018, Infiniti added “Luxe” to all model designations and buyers could choose new equipment packages named Essential, Sensory, and ProActive. Infiniti dropped the Q70 Hybrid in 2019 while adding more standard equipment to the M37 models. Infiniti discontinued all versions of the Q70 after the 2019 model year.
